Willard W. C. Ashley, Sr., Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Humanities Willard Walden Christopher Ashley, Sr., has served as the senior pastor at churches in New Hampshire and New Jersey, since 1982. He has a long history as a community organizer and social activist. Ashley has testified before Congress on environmental and urban issues. He is a contributor to The Men of Color Study Bible. Rev. Dr. Willard Ashley hosted his own program on Black Entertainment Television (BET). He was heard on the radio in New York City for over five years. Willard Ashley is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where he played on the basketball team. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Theory from Montclair State University. Dr. Ashley has a master's degree in theology and an earned doctorate in leadership development from the Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Ashley was granted an honorary Doctor of Humanities from Natchez College, Natchez, Mississippi. Willard Ashley completed the residency program in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as Pastoral Psychotherapy at the Blanton Peale Graduate Institute, New York City. Dr. Ashley taught at Princeton, The University of Pennsylvania, Drew University, Andover Newton Theological School and The New York Theological Seminary. Rev. Dr. Willard Ashley, Sr. is the founder and senior pastor of the Abundant Joy Christian Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Currently, Dr. Ashley is also the Project Director for Council of Churches of the City of New York (CCCNY), which has the mandate to offer the religious leaders of New York City help and healing post 9.11. Ashley maintains a psychotherapy practice at The Riverside Church, New York City. He holds memberships in The American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the American Association of Marriage Family Therapists and the American Group Psychotherapy Association. Dr. Ashley is the president of the Blanton Peale Alumni Association. Dr. Ashley is a consultant to VIPs from corporate, government, sports and entertainment. He is listed in Who's Who in the World, 17th and 19th Editions and Who's Who in America, for the past six years. Ashley is the proud father of a 28 year old son, Willard W. C.
